Philadelphia Imhotep Charter (23-3) (PPL/District 12 AA)

The Panthers got 16pts from 6-5 Sr Ameen Tanksley, 11pts from 6-6 Soph Brandon Austin and 10pts from 6-3 Sr David Appolon in a 51-29 win over Philadelphia Prep Charter In the Public League Round of 16. Imhotep blasted a good AAA Philadelphia Boys; Latin 85-46 in the Public League Quarterfinals and will now play Philadelphia Electrical on Tuesday @ Southern in the Public League Semifinals. Tanksley led with 20pts, including scoring his 1000th point in the 4th quarter on a 3-pointer. 6-6 Sr Earl Brown scored 11pts and 6-8 SR Eric Copes had 10pts and 9rebs. Six other players scored between six and nine points for the Panthers.
 
 
2. Chester (22-1) (District 1 AAAA)
The Clippers had no trouble in blasting Perkiomen Valley 70-36 in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32. Four players scored in double-figures led by 5-11 Sr Maurice Nelson with 18pts, 6-5 Soph Rondae Jefferson with 13pts and 6-3 Jr Erikk Wright and 6-0 Soph Darius Robinson with 10pts apiece. Next up is Springfield-Delco on Tuesday @ home in the District 1 AAAA Round of 16.
 
 
3. Philadelphia Neumann-Goretti (19-4) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
The Saints advance to the Catholic League Semifinals on Wednesday against Roman Catholic @ the Palestra with a 63-39 rout of Monsignor Bonner in the Catholic League Quarterfinals. 6-2 Freshman Ja'Quan Newton, 6-2 Jr La'Quan Coaxum (10rebs) and 6-4 Soph Johnny Davis (14rebs) all scored 12pts, while 5-9 Sr Lamin Fulton had 10pts.
 
 
4. Council Rock North (22-1) (District 1 AAAA)
Indians score just two points in the first quarter but went on to a 43-28 victory over Great Valley in a District 1 AAAA Round of 32 game. The Indians placed two players in double figures to lead the attack. 6-4 Jr Arron Goodman scored a game-high 14pts, while Jr pg Aaron Morgan added 12pts. Council Rock North will now host Wissahickon in a District 1 AAAA Round of 16 game.
 
 
5. Radnor Archbishop Carroll (19-4) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
6-3 Sr Juan'ya Green tied a Catholic League playoff record with 39pts as the Patriots topped visiting St. Joseph's Prep, 72-65. The Niagara signee shot 12-for-16 from the floor (two treys) and 13-for-15 at the line. He also notched six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal in the Catholic League Quarterfinal. Carroll will now play LaSalle on Wednesday at the Palestra in the Catholic League Semifinal.
 
 
6. Philadelphia Electrical Charter (20-3) (PPL/District 12 AAA)
The Chargers defeated Philadelphia Dobbins Tech 77-61 in the Public League Round of 16 as 6-3 Sr Carrington Ward had 24pts, 6-7 Jr David George 18pts, 11rebs, 6blks and 5-10 Sr Devante Chance 12pts. 6-4 Jr Emmanuel Brown added 8pts and 12rebs. Then in the Public League Quarterfinals, Devante Chance nailed a three-ball with 8 seconds left in a 59-57 win over Philadelphia Vaux in overtime. Chance led with 19pts. He was 7-for-11 (three treys) from the field and also collected seven assists and three steals. Ward, added 12pts and David George had 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. They will now play Imhotep Charter on Tuesday @ Southern in the Public League Semifinals.
 
 
7. Plymouth-Whitemarsh (19-4) (District 1 AAAA)
Blasted Interboro 78-42 in District 1 AAAA Round of 32 as four players scored in double-figurers led by 6-1 Sr Marcus Badger with 18pts, 6-7 Sr Jaylen Bond 17pts, 6-0 Sr Stephon Baker 11pts and 6-1 Sr Sam Pygatt 10pts. Next up, hosts Pennridge on Tuesday in District 1 AAAA Round of 16.
 
8. Penn Wood (16-7) (District 1 AAA)
The Patriots broke away from a 21-20 first quarter lead with a 29-7 second quarter and raced to a 90-65 win over Conestoga in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32. 6-5 Sr Aaron Brown 24pts, 6-5 Sr Akil Anderson 17pts and 5-11 Jr Malcom Richardson 15pts led Penn Wood. Will now travel to West Chester Rustin on Tuesday in a District 1 AAAA Round of 16 game.
 
 
9. Shaler (21-1) (WPIAL/District 7 AAAA)
The Titans did not play this week. They open with Plum in the WPIAL AAAA Round of 16 on Wednesday at a site TBD.
 
10. Reading (21-3) (District 3 AAAA)
Red Knights won their fourth consecutive and 19th overall Berks Conference Title with wins over Wyomissing 60-39, Schuylkill Valley 83-69 and Reading Central Catholic 58-50 @ Reading’s Sovereign Center before a crowd of over 7,000 which may be the biggest in the state this year. In the three games 6-2 Sr Taeshan Huffman scored 51pts, 6-5 Sr Demerik Weglinski scored 48 points. 6-1 Soph Jalan Branford scored 40pts and 5-10 Sr Delvon Brown scored 32pts. For more details see Berks Conference Tournament on the District 3 page. The Red Knights will host Lancaster McCaskey on Wednesday in the District 3 AAA Round of 16.
 
 
11. Allentown Allen (19-4) (District 11 AAAA)
Dropped but not to far yet, pending District 11 AAAA Quarterfinal game with Easton next Saturday @ Parkland. Canary’s after winning five games last week lost to Nazareth 58-54 in overtime in the Lehigh Valley Conference Semifinals. 6-2 Sr Branden Harrington and 6-5 Sr Jalen Cannon both scored 15pts in the loss and 6-3 Jr D.J. Brown added 12pts.
 
 
12. South Fayette (19-1) (WPIAL/District 7 AAA)
The Lions lost their final regular season game to Chartiers Valley 63-52 despite 19pts from Mike Lamberti and 12pts from Pat Zedreck. Plays their first WPIAL AAA Round of 16 game @ Canon McMillan against South Park on Tuesday.
 
13. Greensburg Central Catholic (20-2) (WPIAL/District 7 AA)
Did not play this week. Opens in WPIAL AA Round of 16 on Wednesday against Carlynton at a site TBA.
 
 
14. Neshaminy (19-4) (District 1 AAAA)
Neshaminy broke open a tight game in the fourth period to secure a 55-43 District 1 AAAA Round of 32 game win over visiting Central Bucks East. The Redskins were led in scoring by their ‘bigs’ – 6-6 Sr Michael McGarry and 6-3 Sr Dwight Williams. McGarry scored a game-high 18 points, while Williams scored in twin digits with 16 points. 6-4 Jr Ryan Arcidiacono ran the offense to perfection in the fourth period and scored 14 points. Next they will host Glen Mills in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32.
 
15. Norristown (18-3) (District 1 AAAA)
The Eagles had a battle on their hands with Ridley in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32 as they trailed 16-15 at the half but came out on top with a 47-41 win. 6-2 Sr Rasheed Johnson scored 10 of his 15 points in the 2nd half and 6-3 Sr Maleek Williams scored 9 of his 15 points in the 2nd half as they led Norristown to the win. They now host Coatesville on Tuesday in the District 1 AAAA Round of 16.
 
 
16. Scranton (21-2) (District 2 AAAA)
Scranton finished the season strong, as five players score in double figures to cruise to a 73-44 win over Abington Heights on Tuesday in a Lackawanna Division I boys basketball game. Tim Fisch and Terry Turner each scored 13 points for the Knights. Hasiin Dixon had 12 rebounds to break the school's single-season record of 226 set by A.J. McKenna. Malik Draper added 12 points, Karlon Quiiller had 11 and Dixon added 10. Scranton will not play again until March 2 when they play the winner of Wallenpaupack-Delaware Valley in the District 2 AAAA Semifinals.
 
 
17. Philadelphia LaSalle (19-3) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
LaSalle wiped away Philadelphia Archbishop Wood 55-34 in the Catholic League Quarterfinal. 6-0 Sr Eddie Mitchell went 6/7 from the field and 5/7 from the line and led the way with 20pts.6-1 Soph Amar Stukes scored 17pts, 6-9 Sr Steve Collins had 8rebs and 6-5 Sr Joe Brown had 7rebs. LaSalle will now play Archbishop Carroll on Wednesday at the Palestra in the Catholic League Semifinal.
 
18. Philadelphia Constitution (21-4) (PPL/District 12 A)
The Generals rolled over Philadelphia Paul Robeson 90-46 in the Public League Round of 16 on Monday. 5-7 Jr Amonie Holloman led the way with 23pts, 6treys ( 5 in the third quarter). 6-1 Jr Daiiquan Walker had 13pts and 5-7 Jr Tamir Bolger and 6-5 Sr Xavier Harris both scored 10pts. Then in the Public League Quarterfinals they avenged an early season one-point loss with a resounding 76-57 win over AAAA Philadelphia Frankford. Harris, who will play at the U. of Penn next year, scored a game-high 16pts and grabbed six rebounds. 6-4 Sr Mamadou Diakite posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Constitution, meanwhile, welcomed the return of 6-8 senior center Erik Raleigh, who had been sidelined since December with a broken hand. Raleigh did not miss a step, posting nine points, six rebounds and one block. Junior guard Amonie Holloman was 4-for-4 from behind the arc, tallying 12 points. 6-2 senior forward Abdul King also scored in double digits, adding 13 points. Will now play Philadelphia Math, Civics & Sciences on Tuesday @ Southern in the Public League Semifinals.
 
 
19. Bethlehem Liberty (20-4) (District 11 AAAA)
Comes back into ratings on the strength of winning Lehigh Valley Tournament with wins over Easton 49-39 ( 5-11 Sr Izel Dickerson 17pts, 6-5 Sr Darrun Hillard 14pts) and Nazareth 56-50 (Hilliard 19pts, 5-10 Soph Patrick Donnelly 13pts, Dickerson 11pts). Goes into District 11 AAAA Quarterfinals as #2 seed and will play the winner of the Bangor/Pleasant Valley game on Saturday at Parkland.
 
20. Philadelphia Roman Catholic (16-7) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
Back in again after a 63-57 win over Philadelphia Father Judge in the Catholic League Quarterfinal at Judge to avenge the 49-48 loss to Judge that knocked them out last week. Second time they have dropped out. They now advance to the Catholic League Semifinals on Wednesday against Philadelphia Neumann-Goretti and have secured a spot in the upcoming PIAA AAAA State Tournament.
 
 
DROPPED OUT: York (23-2) (District 3 AAAA) After losing to Eastern York 58-49 in the YIAAA Championship @ York College. Easton (19-3) (District 11 AAAA) After losing 49-39 to Bethlehem Liberty in the Lehigh Valley Conference Semifinals.
