Milestones 08-09

Sarah Pastorek of Bishop McCort High School scored her 1000th point against Marion Center on February 24, 2009.

Central Cambria's Jordan Miller surpassed 2,000 points and broke the CC single season scoring mark that had been held by  Randy McKavish.

Paul Weatherly, Johnstown, scored his 1,000th point in a 49-48 loss to Bishop Carroll back on 1/10/09

Taylor Harpster a Junior at Philipsburg-Osceola reached her 1000 point on Thursday, February 12th against Penns Valley during the Lady Mounties last regular season home game.

Bedford's Mark Scott scored his 1,000th career point on Wednesday, Feb. 4th.

Chrissy Cooper from State College High scored her 1000 point career against Mercyhurst Prep, Saturday January 31. She scored with under 30 second to go and score a game high 35 points to do that.

Harmony senior Megan Brink and junior Alyson Leyo became the third and fourth Lady Owls to reach the 1000 point mark.   This is the first time two Harmony players have hit 1000 during the same season.  Megan hit her 1000th point during a home game against Brockway on December 17, 2008 and Alyson became the first Harmony underclassman to ever reach the milestone against Northern Cambria in the championship game of the Cambria Heights Holiday Tournament on December 30, 2008.

 
West Branch's Tyler Ferguson scored his 1000th point at Harmony on January 22, 2009.

Jordan Speck of Southern Huntingdon scored her 1,000th point on Monday, February 2.  She finished with 22 pts. in a 79 - 60 victory over Bellwood.  She has the unique distinction of joining her older brother Garrett, also a 1,000 pt. scorer at Southern Huntingdon, as the first brother-sister duo to accomplish this feat in the Huntingdon Daily News coverage area.

Alli Williams, a junior at Bishop Guilfoyle, scored her 1,000th career point [20th on the night] at the 5:30 mark of the fourth quarter.  Alli went backdoor, received a nice pass from Rachel Rea, and banked in a layup to make it 44-23.  She finished with 22 points in the 50-31 victory over Bishop McCort.  In the process, she became the first underclassman and only the sixth Lady Marauder ever to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

Mike Walker, Homer Center reached his 1,000 point milestone on December 23, 2008 against Laurel Valley.

Patrick Hall, Laurel Valley reached his 1,000 point milestone on December 30, 2008 against Ligonier Valley.

Ferndale's Junior Brittany Eisenhuth scored her 1000 point on Jan 20th 2009 vs Blacklick valley

Lewistown's head coach Aaron Gingrich recorded his 159th win as a coach and in doing so earned school record for boys' coaching wins.
